We first started watching RuPaul's Drag Race when we heard that Lucy Lawless was going to be a guest judge.  We hadn't seen her in awhile and thought it would be interesting.  Little did we know that she would have such a small part and that we would become completely addicted to this show!

"I think everyone should have the right to do drag, even if they look busted...I'm here!" - Shangela

What was RuPaul's Drag Race about?

RuPaul's Drag Race is a competition to find the next drag superstar.  It is hosted by RuPaul herself and each week the queens compete in several different challenges with the bottom two having to lipsync for their lives, okay?  (To quote RuPaul!)  It has been on for three seasons and is thoroughly entertaining. There is also a spinoff show called Drag U which has previous contestants making over biological women to compete against each other.

What was the best part about the show?

It's just fun!  It doesn't matter who wins in the end, and even though we get invested, it doesn't really affect our enjoyment of the show when someone we don't like wins.  It is extremely rewatchable and they have a lot of really talented contestants that we wouldn't otherwise have known about.

What was the worst part about the show?

Although we love the show and enjoy pretty much every minute of it, we have not been too happy with the winners.  For seasons 1 and 2 at least, we did not feel that the best person won either time.

Where did the show go wrong?

It has not gone wrong.  In fact, we find that each season is progressively more entertaining than the one before it.

What is our favorite/most memorable scene?

Nina's flubs in the Oprah challenge ("This is your name" and "I said HIV Loca"), Raven's chicken, the Disco extra greasy shortening commercials, Tatiana's Britney Spears impersonation, Mystique's country realness, Jessica declaring her love for the new Absolut Vodka drink that got her eliminated, the singing challenge in season 2, the many looks of Raja, the Heathers vs. Boogers, Manila's jock explaining the different types of drag queens according to Manila, Carmen and Raja's lipsync (it was certainly memorable), Raja and Manila's money dresses, and the queens' fear of boxes after Shangela showed up in one.

Who are our favorite contestants and why?

Nina Flowers, Shannel, Raven, Tatiana, Raja, Manila Luzon, and Carmen Carrera.  All fierce queens that we like for completely different reasons.  Nina was adorable and we rooted for her throughout the whole first season.  Shannel was underrated, but a very talented performer and make-up artist.  While Raven and Tatiana were two opposite sides of the biggest season long conflict in Drag Race history, we actually liked them both.  Raja is our favorite queen from the show and always did something new and interesting each episode.  Manila is really cute, funny, quirky, and always fun to watch.  And Carmen was Carmen...who turned out to be way more entertaining than we expected.  Go Heathers!
