In this episode, Tommy wants to ask Kimberly to an upcoming dance.  Rita comes up with a plan to steal Tommy's powers using a candle made out of some special wax, and then kidnaps Tommy just as he is about to ask Kimberly.  He is able to escape, but the candle burns on, and once the flame goes out, the Green Ranger powers are gone for good.
