Iolaus returns to warn Hercules of the impending apocalypse and to aid him in his quest to stop it from happening. Archangel Michael searches for the four tablets that will release the horsemen to bring about the end of humanity. With Iolaus and Ares' help, Hercules tries to stop Michael, however they are unable to prevent all four of the horsemen from being released. When Iolaus' life is in danger, Hercules sacrifices himself to save his best friend. Michael, realizing that there is still good in the world, puts a stop to the test. Iolaus, now banished from the light for his betrayal, is allowed to return to Earth to live out his life at Hercules' side so he can be judged again.
