Leo: "Being with her broke the rules, but not being with her breaks my heart."

Leo first came into Piper's life as a handyman for the sisters' house. In fact, he was a whitelighter, sent to protect the sisters because of the powers they just discovered. At the beginning, Phoebe and Piper fought to gain his heart but a truth spell revealed Piper's sincere feelings so Phoebe decided to help her sister instead. It turned out that Leo loved Piper as well and everything went well for the couple… the only problem being that Leo didn't mention that he wasn't mortal. Piper only found out the day he was hurt by a darklighter (quote above). Fortunately, Piper was able to save him.

Later on, things get worse as Piper has a hard time dealing with this relationship. Leo can't be with her all the time because of what he is and what he must do to protect innocent people. He must always obey his superiors' orders: so when they call him, he has to go right away. And this, even if he is on a date with Piper. On top of that, Leo's feelings for Piper prevent him from protecting the sisters the way he should. The council of light (Leo's superiors) learn about it and Leo is not allowed to guide the sisters anymore for a whitelighter can't fall in love with a witch.

During that time, a new guy comes in Piper's life: Dan. He is handsome, “mortal” and he is there for Piper whenever she needs him (something Leo couldn't always do since he was a whitelighter). Leo understands what he can't give to Piper, but isn't ready to give up because he still loves her. One day, Piper is sick and is brought to the hospital where her sisters learn that she is attacked by a dangerous virus and that she's gonna die. Since no magic is involved, they have no right to do anything to save her. Phoebe and Prue calls Leo and tell him that he can't let that happen. Leo reminds them that he can't do anything about it either, even though it breaks his heart. Piper finally dies, but just before she reaches heaven, Leo appears before her. He tells her to take his hands quickly, and he heals her.

Because of that action, Leo got his wings clipped and became mortal. He decided to take this opportunity to get Piper back, even though she is now with Dan. There will be a big fight between Dan and Leo for winning Piper and fortunately, Leo will win! Piper recognizes that she can't lie to Dan forever and obliviously, she truly loves Leo. The rule is still an obstacle though… Leo and Piper will prove to the council that it is their love that makes them strong and preventing them from marriage isn't right. Leo will get his wings back and they will eventually be allowed to marry.

Leo was attacked by a darklighter and then brought to the Halliwell's home in a dangerous state. Piper switched her power against Leo's healing capacities to cure him, but didn't understand how to make it work and Leo is now dead.

Phoebe: "I thought you might like to talk."

Piper [crying]: "He could have stayed with us, he could have fought harder."

Phoebe: "He was in pain, he had to let go."

Piper: "He didn't have to! Our magic's never failed before. I cast the spell, I took his power, all he had to do was show me how to do it and he never did."

Phoebe: "How can you be mad at him?"

Piper: "Because it should have worked! Why couldn't I find a trigger? Why couldn't he just help me, give me his power?"

Phoebe: "He wanted to live, he didn't want to leave you. It's hard to lose someone you love."

[Scene: Later on. Piper's in the attic alone with Leo. She's still trying to make the spell work, even though it might be useless.]

Piper: "I love you, Leo."  [She's crying and a tear drop lands on her hand and her hand started glowing.]  "I found it! Leo! I love you!"  [She holds her glowing hand over Leo and she heals him.]  "Can you hear me? I love you, Leo, please hear me!"

[Leo finally wakes up.]

Leo [whispering]: "Piper..."

[They hug.]

Piper: "Oh, thank God! I tried so hard and I couldn't make it work before. Why didn't you tell me?"

Leo: "That love was the trigger? You had to find that out on your own. Why couldn't you tell me?"

Piper: "I don't know! I was afraid… I was afraid if I admitted how I really felt it would hurt more if I lost you. I'm so sorry, I should have said it before."

Leo: "It's better late then never."

As husband and wife, Leo and Piper are still fighting the evil forces. Their life is still not easy but they are ready for it. The power of the sisters has grown and their enemies are stronger too. There's still a big job waiting for them, but they are ready. Leo and Piper's life is still not easy, but together they will make it through.
