Hilby is a really funny and talented performer who does a variety of tricks and feats in his show.  He juggles many different things including balls, shaker cups, a bowling ball, a plunger, knives, fire, and regular juggling pins.  He also rides a unicycle with a child from the audience on his shoulders, and ends his show by juggling on top of a tall unicycle.  Hilby always gets a great reaction from the huge crowd that he draws.  He may always do the same old cheesy stuff (his words), but it is his delivery of the lines that is priceless.  We always laugh at the same lines because his facial expressions and delivery are just so funny.  The audience is always willing to participate (especially when he gets out his bullwhip and demands you get on stage) and he even gets them to sing along to The Sound of Music while he attempts to set his hair on fire.  Good times.

We first saw Hilby back in 1998 when he was performing on the Jury Rig stage.  Up until that point, we were not into the whole show aspect of the faire and preferred to just walk around and take in the atmosphere.  When we saw his show, we realized how wrong we were and then became huge fans of his and the faire became much more enjoyable to us.  It is fun to see Hilby's show every year, and the one year that he was not there really felt like it was missing something.  He recently put out a DVD that consisted of mostly our home movie footage and photos that our dad took.  What a great feeling it was that we were able to help out one of our favorite performers, and we really enjoy the DVD.  Hopefully Hilby will continue to come to the faire for many years to come!  It just wouldn't be the same without him!
