Sebby is my fourth ball-jointed doll. I had absolutely no plans to get another doll after I had three that I was more than happy with, but I caved after admiring all of the adorable photos of the Little Fees online. Fairyland has a lot of really cute dolls, but it wasn't until I saw Bisou that I knew that I had to have one. I love his size - he is so much easier to tote around than the three big guys, and I think he fits in very well with my doll family.

Browsing doll forums can be a problem for your wallet! There are just so many great dolls and sometimes one just really jumps out at you, as the Little Fee Bisou did for me. I was happy with having three dolls, as that seemed like a good number, but I couldn't resist getting this little guy. The only thing that concerned me about getting him was his size. I previously only had 60-70 cm dolls, and I wasn't sure how the proportions would work with this size. It seemed to me like he would just be way too small to be the appropriate size of a child in comparison to the others, and I planned on sitting him away from the big guys and photographing him separately if it didn't look good.

Once Sebby arrived home, it was love at first sight! When I opened the box I was in shock at just how cute and tiny he was, and how sparkly his face-up was. I thought he was just adorable and when I put him in Shuichi's arms, the size difference didn't bother me one bit. When they are all sitting it looks proportional, it is just when they stand that it looks weird because of their really long legs. Since he's arrived, I seem to take him with me more than the others because of his portable size. He fits right into a bag easily and is really light, so he seems to usually be my choice to bring to places like conventions.

Sebby is an original character, although when I was ordering him I had an image of a much younger version of a character in one of my favorite books (Jack from "Whistling in the Dark"). I guess I would say that the inspiration for him came from Jack, although once Sebby arrived he ended up slightly different. We both came up with the name Pierre Sebastian Cole for him, by picking names off of the list I came up with of all the names I liked for him. Sebby always wears a hat because he looks really cute in them (and it keeps his hair from falling off as it tends to do). Shuichi and Caesar both like to play with him, although Sebby seems to like sitting with Yuki the most!
