Characters (page 2)
Mika Seguchi, voiced by Georgette Reilly, was the older sister of Yuki and Tatsuha. She was a self confident and seemingly successful woman who cared a great deal about the welfare of her family. It was never said in the anime what happened to their mother, but from the way Mika looked after her brothers it seems to me that she took over that role after their mother passed away. Mika was married to Tohma Seguchi and although it is unclear if their marriage was one of love or of convenience, she did appear to love him. After the incident in New York, Mika spent a great deal of time worrying about Yuki. And although she was always trying to keep his best interests at heart, it was not always what he wanted, such as the arranged marriage to Ayaka. Mika was mostly kind to Shuichi, even though she did not think he was good for her brother, and only asked him to stop seeing him when Yuki got sick.

Tatsuha Uesugi, voiced by Jason Griffith, was the youngest child in the Uesugi family. He did not have that large of a role in the anime, but his scenes were very important to the relationship of Shuichi and Yuki. He was the one that tried to convince Shuichi that just because Ayaka was Yuki's fiancee that did not mean that she had more of a right to be with him. Tatsuha was also the person who brought Shuichi to the family temple in Kyoto to give him one last chance to reconcile with Yuki. Tatsuha was a very mature 16 year old, although he did have a major crush on the lead singer of Nittle Grasper, Ryuichi, despite the fact that Ryu was at least double his age. Tatsuha's raging hormones got the best of him when he first met Shuichi due to his resemblance to Ryu, which lead to a really awkward first impression for the vocalist.

Ayaka Usami, voiced by Rachael Lillis, was in an arranged engagement with Yuki that was agreed upon by their families. However, even though it was only an arranged marriage, Ayaka fell in love with Yuki and ran away from home to meet with him in Tokyo. She was outraged when she found out that Shuichi was her fiancee's lover and forbid him to see Yuki because he was hers. K persuaded Ayaka to bring Yuki to a Bad Luck concert where, when Shuichi saw them together in the crowd, shouted out that Yuki was his in the middle of a song. When Ayaka saw Yuki smile at Shuichi's declaration of love, she decided to let him go. However, after Shuichi's run in with Aizawa, Yuki headed home and offered Ayaka a proposal of marriage because he wanted to disappear from the singer's life. He felt that he was doing nothing but hurting Shuichi by being with him. When Ayaka realized that Yuki would not be happy with her, she decided not to marry him and let the two be together. In the end, she became close to Hiro, which was nice because love triangles are always so messy, and it is good when everyone ends happy.

Bill Timoney voiced Sakano, Bad Luck's manager turned producer. He was a very interesting character, always on the verge of a nervous breakdown or panic attack. Sakano was completely dedicated to his job and idolized the president of the company, Tohma Seguchi. After Bad Luck's debut, he was fired from his job as their manager and that position was given to K. Sakano was asked to become the band's producer because that was where his talents were. After Nittle Grasper reformed, Sakano found himself in the position of having to compete with Tohma, who was the producer for their band. Sakano was such a workaholic, that when he was fired in the manga, he immediately reapplied at NG right after being let go. In one of the books, it was said that he had a huge poster of Tohma in his living room, and we also saw that he liked to clean Tohma's office on his days off. However, as strange as Sakano was, he had a good heart and always looked out for Shuichi, Hiro, and Suguru, not only as a band but as people.

Kenneth Robert Marlo voiced Ryuichi Sakuma, the vocal genius and lead singer of the insanely popular group Nittle Grasper. He was the lead singer while Tohma and Noriko Ukai played the keyboards. Ryu was idolized by many, and it was his singing that inspired Shuichi to pursue a music career. After Nittle Grasper broke up, he went on a solo tour in America for three years with K as his manager. When he returned to Japan and sang with Shuichi on stage, he decided to reform Nittle Grasper once again. Although Shuichi was thrilled to be able to hear them again, he found it hard to compete against his long time idol. Ryuichi was a very interesting character, for he seemed to have almost split personalities. When he was on stage, he was charismatic, mature, and gave his all to his music. Off stage, he was very childlike and innocent. He was often found playing with his pink stuffed bunny Kumagoru (or Mr. Bear) or drawing on the floor with crayons. Ryuichi is a lot of peoples favorite character because of his cute personality.

Taki Aizawa, voiced by Tim Breese, was the lead singer in a group named ASK. They were rivals with Bad Luck, although the rivalry was brought on by Taki's jealousy of Shuichi more than anything. His hatred of Shuichi led him to take extreme measures against the young singer, and he really did many things that he shouldn't have. Taki was the one that threatened to expose Shuichi and Yuki's relationship to the media, had Shuichi gang raped while he took pictures as blackmail, and nearly attacked Yuki in his home until Shuichi came in and stopped him. His visit to the novelist's apartment was the last straw for Tohma Seguchi, and it was only after that that he put an end to ASK's career. Taki was pushed in front of a car as punishment and the band was dropped from the label. It was never said if Ma-kun or Ken (the other members of ASK) were given another chance, but in the last episode it looked as if they were letting Taki know that there were no hard feelings.
