Characters (page 1)
Shuichi Shindou, voiced by Rich McNanna, is the main character in the Gravitation series. He was a teenager in a band named Bad Luck that was signed to a major record label. On his way home one night, a page of lyrics he was working on blew out of his hands and forced him into the life of novelist Eiri Yuki, who insulted his song. After meeting up with Yuki a few days later, he found himself falling in love with the man. Luckily for Shuichi, although Yuki was not the nicest guy, his words belied his true feelings for the vocalist. The two eventually became lovers and Shuichi found that everything in his life was based on his relationship, and if he was having a fight with Yuki, he could not give his all to his band. Near the end of the anime, Shuichi realized he was going to have to start relying and believing in himself more, although he was not willing to lose Yuki for anything. Shuichi was an adorable character who, although he did not have a good handle on his emotions, was a pretty hard person to not like. When he knew what he wanted he would let nothing stand in the way, and there's really not anything about Shuichi that isn't lovable.

Rome Elliot voiced Eiri Yuki, the romance novelist who found his life heading in a completely different direction after the chance meeting with Shuichi in the park. Yuki was the kind of person that tried to keep others at arms length, for he was betrayed by a person he loved in the past and did not want to allow that to happen again. Although it sounds like a cliché plot device, it was done in a way that it did not come across as such, at least to me. Yuki found his life surprisingly brighter with Shuichi around, although he did not understand why the singer would want to be around him. When bad things happened to Shuichi, such as the incident with Taki Aizawa, Yuki blamed himself and tried to keep Shuichi away from him. In the end of the series, Shuichi finally told Yuki that no matter where he went, Shuichi would find him because he loved him. And although Yuki never said the words, it was clear that he loved the pink haired singer back just as much.

Hiroshi Nakano, voiced by Daniel Kevin Harrison, was Shuichi's long time best friend and Bad Luck's guitarist. The two of them were friends ever since they were kids and it was Hiro that encouraged Shuichi to go after Yuki after he pointed out his friend's crush. Hiro was an all around nice guy and always supported Shuichi in whatever he wanted to do. There was not a time in the anime when Shuichi needed help and Hiro was not available to offer that to him. After Yuki broke off his engagement with Ayaka, Hiro realized that he had feelings for her, although he doubted that she would return them. When K and Sakano tried to use Yuki and Shuichi's relationship to promote the band, Hiro quit because he wanted it be only about the music. It was only when Ayaka visited him and offered to go out on a date with him that he decided to rejoin the group. Hiro was an invaluable friend, and Shuichi needed him by his side in his professional life just as much as he needed Yuki in his personal one.

Luke Novak voiced Suguru Fujisaki, the 16 year old musical prodigy. He was Tohma Seguchi's cousin and was like him in more ways than just the instrument that they both played. Although Fujisaki looked up to Seguchi, he longed to surpass his cousin's level of talent. Tohma had Fujisaki join Bad Luck to play the keyboards and arrange their music, and it was with this band that the young keyboardist finally saw his opportunity. Although Bad Luck became insanely popular, Fujisaki often found himself frustrated at Shuichi's lack of dedication and K's methods of promotion. He saw himself as a serious musician and had very little time for those that did not meet his expectations. Fujisaki also had no shortage of confidence in himself and his abilities, which annoyed Shuichi to no end.

K, the gun-toting American, voiced by Brian Maillard, was Ryuichi Sakuma's former manager. He managed Ryu when he was touring in America for three years, although he probably had to look after him as much as manage him. After Ryu moved back to Japan, K decided to manage Bad Luck when he was intrigued by Shuichi and Hiro's debut. K's methods of keeping the band in line were unorthodox (and involved lots of guns), but he was an excellent manager and also a good friend. He supported Shuichi in his relationship with Yuki and even tried to help it along during the rough spots, such as when he gave Yuki the amusement park tickets to take Shuichi on a date, or when he asked Ayaka to bring Yuki to a Bad Luck concert. K even helped Shuichi take a quick trip to New York to find his missing lover using his military connections. K was a great character that many people count among their favorites, and his voice actor really did a noticeably good job.

Tohma Seguchi, voiced by Bill Rogers, was Nittle Grasper's keyboardist turned president of NG Productions. He was an incredibly competent businessman, but hid a very scary side of himself behind his innocent smile. He was the one who brought Yuki to New York when he was younger, and Tohma never forgave himself for not being able to protect the boy when he needed it most. Tohma took it upon himself to look out for Yuki even when they returned back to Japan, because he never wanted to allow him be hurt again. Tohma's weak spot was definitely Yuki, and he found himself taking drastic measures to protect the novelist. He pushed Taki Aizawa in front of a moving car after the singer threatened Yuki, and he threatened Shuichi into leaving Yuki after he got sick. However, Tohma always did what he felt was in Yuki's best interest. He was married to Mika, Yuki's older sister, which leads to an interesting question. What exactly did Tohma mean when he said to Aizawa that Yuki was the one that he loved most in the world? The extent of his feelings for the writer was not really mentioned other than that and it could be interpreted in a number of ways.
